When considering a gift to the Camping and Education Foundation, there are many opportunities that will not only advance the Foundation’s mission and its programs, but may also provide you a tax-deductible contribution. While the Camping and Education Foundation is grateful for all contributions, the following types of gifts are especially appreciated:
![]() Unrestricted gifts of cash in support of the Annual Fund and Endowment are the most popular and easiest way to support the Camping and Education Foundation mission. Gifts may be made in a single contribution or pledged and paid in installments. |
![]() The impact of a contribution can be greatly increased by a matching employer gift. When considering a donation, consult with your employer, and if applicable, forward the completed matching gift form to the development office with your contribution. A matching gift can dramatically increase your support for the Foundation.

![]() Gifts of stocks or securities benefit you and the school. This type of gift is tax-deductible and you may avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated stock or security. Often a gift of appreciated stock offers tax benefits to the donor. Not only can the donor take a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock, capital gains tax on the appreciation can be avoided. Donors are advised to consult with their own legal, tax, and estate planning professionals when considering gifts other than cash. |
![]() The Camping and Education Foundation encourages and appreciates future gifts made through one’s estate. Bequests are the most common way for donors to make their ultimate gift to the Foundation. If you are interested in learning more about gift planning, we are happy to help you determine how and when to make a gift and with what assets. |

Each of the following endowment funds is open to any individual or family who may wish to support these specific areas of the camps’ respective programs. When establishing a new endowment, a donor creates a permanently invested fund at the Foundation from which only the income is used to underwritten the program specified with the gift. A list of all the named endowment funds (shown below) is maintained in perpetuity by the organization. In addition to program endowments, there is the opportunity to create named scholarship funds. One of the ongoing needs facing the Camping and Education Foundation is in the area of providing sufficient tuition assistance funds for its campers. Income from an endowed tuition assistance fund is used to provide financial support to a worthy camper who meets the criteria established by the donor.

Camping and Education Foundation Planned Giving Options
We are proud to partner with The Dayton Foundation, which is prepared to handle the complexities of charitable gift annuities and trusts as needed. We also are fortunate to have several financial service professionals, who are Kooch-i-ching alums, volunteer to help our donors make informed decisions. These individuals will serve as liaisons between The Dayton Foundation and the Camping and Education Foundation, as well as make themselves available to answer questions directly. By no means will the Foundation’s team replace your financial advisor but it will be ready to assist along with the Foundation’s general legal counsel.
