Annual Fund Raises Over $825K—Most Ever

By Hugh Haller

Measured by any metric, this past summer exceeded our expectations. Besides the obvious benchmarks—bunks filled, trips taken, scholarship dollars awarded—proof can be found in the multitude of lessons learned, challenges met, friendships forged and hours unplugged.

This momentum carried us well into the fall, and the giving season. Through efforts to engage current staff members and young alumni, and a lofty goal of 250 new donors, we raised more than $825,000 for the annual fund in 2019, the most we’ve ever raised in a single year. Of the 620 gifts we received, over a third (217) came from first-time donors.

As we turn the page to 2020 and prepare for another fun-filled summer in the Northwoods, I wish to thank everyone who made a donation to the Camping & Education Foundation. Every gift, no matter the size, will be used for the betterment of Kooch-i-ching, Ogichi Daa Kwe and the Foundation.

If 2019 is anything to go by, the future of our organization is bright.
